I am lucky to have a fantastic critique partner.

We both have a unique approach to writing ( I write in layers, starting with an outline first. She cranks out chapter after chapter. Pantster versus plotter) and yet it works.

We meet every other week to inspire, motivate, and help each other out on our weak points.

It’s invaluable.

This week’s writing habit is simple, if you don’t have a critique partner get involved with an online group and start exchanging ideas and manuscripts. It will broaden your craft and help you see beyond your own imagination.

Learn How To Accept Criticism.

Being a writer means you’ll need thick skin. Criticism and rejection are commonplace for writers. Truly listen to what is being said and try not to take either as a personal attack. Learn from the suggestions which are made and your writing will be stronger than before when you internalize the criticism.
