In my new book that’s coming out there is a chapter titled, “Set the Scene.” In this chapter each story starter begins with internal dialogue or narrative. Today’s story starter takes a page from that format.
I knew that changing my life would be difficult. I just never imagined it’d be this hard. He wasn’t going to give an inch. I was going to have to be manipulative. It was a personality trait I didn’t admire but was skilled at nonetheless. I took a deep breath, pasted on a smile and got ready to unleash my inner conniver.
