So it occurred to me today that if I write 500 words every day between now and December 31st that I’ll have an 80,000 word book.
Now, 500 words a day isn’t too difficult, right? You could write that during your lunch break or in the morning before you go to work. It just takes an hour or two each day and you could have a finished novel by the end of the year. What a way to ring in the New Year. If you’re inspired and ready to tackle this challenge let’s do it. Let’s write a book – we have a little more than 5 months to get it done. I’ll track my word count, you track yours. Let me know how you’re doing.
This is a great idea. I’ve tried to do this in the past. I think the hardest part for me was actually sticking to it, in spite of the challenges that could occur on any given day. I used to write on my lunch break every day and with my book nearly finished, I think I am going to join you on this 500 word per day(or more if motivation strikes me)challenge. Thanks for posting this!
Hi Amanda,
We’ll I can tell you that after my first week of this, it’s a bit more of a challenge than I thought it would be. I’ve learned some things and am looking forward to sharing experiences. I’m posting my results for the week on Wednesday’s, gulp…And am inviting you and others who are joining along to share your numbers and results. I’d love to hear how you make 500 words a day happen.
