Happy Superbowl Sunday!
This is a big holiday in our household. Well a big eating holiday. We’re having a Hawaiian feast today. Kahlua pork shoulder, chicken long rice, and macaroni salad plus some bacon chipotle guacamole. Yum!
I’m rooting for the Ravens because they kicked the Broncos butt. I’m a die-hard broncos fan and my convoluted logic says that if we’re going to be beaten, at least it should be by the team that wins the Superbowl. It’s messed up, I know.
And there’s Ray Lewis, how can you root against him?
And there’s Jim Harbaugh. I met him when I was in High School. He played football at UofM and I had a big crush on him – he was pretty hunky. At any rate, the principal of our high school knew his family well and good old Jim came to one of our high school football games.
I got to meet him, blush…swoon….
I have to say that he was much more calm then than he is now. So why am I rooting against his team, the 49ers? Well because…his brother seems a bit cooler. Certainly more composed.
Enough About Football…
In honor of the Ravens, I found this…
This is Raven from DC Comics.
Raven has the psionic ability of empathy, enabling her to feel the emotions, feelings, and sensations of others. She can use her empathy to steal emotions from others, rendering them emotionally “numb”. She is also able to force outside emotions into other people.
Additionally, Raven seems to be able to absorb another person’s knowledge with a touch, such as the language spoken by that person. She was shown to have the power and ability to project mental illusions into someone’s memory. This unique ability is usually forgotten. Also, she has shown to be capable to force other people to love her. (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raven_(comics))
So…Your Romance Story Starter for this Superbowl Sunday…
Your heroine has one of the superpowers that Raven has – you choose. What superpower does she have and what does she do with it? How does it get her into trouble?
Have fun and happy writing!
