Your hero is a photographer and a demon or vampire hunter (you decide who/what he’s hunting.) He can tell if they’re otherworldly when he looks at them through his camera.
What happens when he finally sees his love interest through his lens?

As a photographer…and one who enjoys reading (but doesn’t write) paranormal…I’m not sure where I’d want this to go…
I always have a bit of trouble with story ideas that are too close to me. For example, I can’t (I’ve tried) to include people I know in stories. It just doesn’t work for me. So maybe that’s the case here for you or maybe this just isn’t your genre:-D. It’s certainly not for everyone.
I don’t write vampire stories but my imagination takes me to a Joss Whedon-like scene where the photographer sees a brightly colored glow around her. (She’s standing in a book store and he’s passing by on the street. He always has his camera with him and stops to take a photo of the book store.) He notices the glow around her and then realizes it’s her, the object of his affections. The glow around her is strong. The stronger the glow, the more powerful the vampire. She’s powerful but there’s another colored glow around her and he doesn’t know what it means. His assistant/sidekick wants to follow her and kill her right now but he decides to search for answers. LOL! Fun.
