“The best thing about dreams is that fleeting moment, when you are between asleep and awake, when you don’t know the difference between reality and fantasy, when for just that one moment you feel with your entire soul that the dream is reality, and it really happened.”
Dreams are amazing and sometimes frightening experiences. We dream every night. Sometimes the dreams feel as if they’re real experiences – experiences to learn from. Experiences to relish and enjoy.
Other dreams feel almost prophetic. You know when you wake that the dream had a meaning or a message.
Other dreams are of course downright silly. A few nights ago I dreamed that Woody Allen asked me out on a date. I politely turned him down, telling him I was married, but I felt special. I mean, it’s Woody Allen, right? Then as I proceeded through the hotel I ran into friends who each burst my bubble telling me that he’d also asked them out. I woke up laughing.
Last night I dreamed that I was helping Tina Fey and her mother fix up their small one room New York apartment but was getting frustrated because Tina’s mother kept shopping at Wal Mart.
I don’t normally dream about celebrities, I’d much rather dream story solutions for my romance novel!, so this has been a strange week for dreams. It inspired me to write a story starter about dreams.
Story Starter….
Your heroine is dreaming. She’s flying through the air, smiling and heading to a specific destination. She gets there, puts her feet on the ground and there’s an unfamiliar man standing there as if he’s waiting for her. The man is real and is also somewhere sleeping and sharing her dream. Who is he? Where are they?
Happy writing!
