Set Small Concrete Deadlines for Yourself.
If you’re writing a novel and it is taking longer than you’d like, create small deadlines – writing three pages a day, one chapter a month or whatever – to help you reach your ultimate goal of finishing your novel.
Personally, I’ve set the goal to write 1000 a day or about 7000 a week. I don’t always meet the daily goal but the weekly goal is a must! It feels great to meet your writing goals and of course accomplishing each small goal brings you closer to completion and publication.
A lot more books (including romance books) would get written if authors stuck to attainable goals. Easier said than done though.
True enough, Allyson. That’s true about most things though don’t you think? A lot more dreams would be realized if people were able to “eat the elephant.”
