Allow spelling, grammar and formatting mistakes. The story is the most important element and that’s what you want to focus on first.
Grammar, spelling, formatting and cleaning up your sentences and scenes can be fixed later on. That’s what the revision process is for!
As you’re writing you may want to take a day or so each month to go back through writing you’ve already done. Take this time to look at your writing with new eyes.
What rewriting needs to be done? How can you make the dialogue more natural? Is there a way to add more suspense to a particular part of the plot?
