It’s Bass Ackwards Day!

Bass Ackwards, for those who don’t know, is a goofy way of being slightly less offensive. Ass Backwards is what someone is when they’re doing something completely upside down and backwards of how it should be done.

However, I’m a firm believer that we should challenge how things SHOULD be done. So I’m turning this day upside down!

I’m starting with manuscript editing and cleaning. That’s what I usually do at the end of the day. Yep, I’m cleaning my office first. Figure if I can get things around me to be more organized, perhaps my mind will be clearer for the details. Then, I’m working on client projects.

And Bass Ackwards day doesn’t have to mean just turning your day upside down, you can turn your writing upside down too!

Have you ever written a story backwards?

With the end in mind first? Have you ever written the last scene of a book before you even think about the first pages? Often, we’re so focused on those first three chapters because that’s what agents and editors look at initially, that we neglect the ending but I can tell you from experience, if the ending sucks, the book sucks.

Turn your day upside down!

Write an ending to a story you’ve been thinking about or working on.
